Myself, my family and dogs had a great stay at Nikki and Mark's place. The Mill house was ideal and offered everything we could ask for. Set in a good countryside location to explore many of Cornwall's must visit places. Hosts gave very good recommendations, welcoming and easy to deal with. I would definitely recommend a stay here! A big thank you to Nikki and Mark from us all.

House rules Smoking There is strictly no smoking in any of the cottages or the games room. We ask that you respect this policy as it is a legal requirement for accommodation to be smoke-free premises. This includes vaping and electronic cigarettes. You may of course smoke outside the property but please dispose of your cigarette ends responsibly. Cottage Equipment In addition to general furnishings and kitchen tools, you’ll find lots of useful equipment around the cottage including torch and spare batteries. We understand that small items can easily be left in pockets or bags on departure so please check they are back in place before you leave, ready for future guests to make use of. A full inventory is done prior to arrival and on departure and unfortunately, with the exception of batteries, lightbulbs and consumables anything that is not found to be in the cottage on check out will be deducted from your security deposit. You’ll also find a torch plugged in to a wall socket. This is a fire precaution requirement so that in the event of a power cut or fire passageways are automatically illuminated. Please don’t remove the torch from its holder unless you need to use it to escape the cottage in an emergency. Visitors For insurance reasons, the number of overnight guests in each cottage must be as booked. If you have relatives or friends who would like to visit you at the property during the day, please let us know in advance. If your visitors have an additional car, please ask them to park in the main courtyard, keeping space next to cottages free for other resident guests. Gatherings of additional people on the premises for a party or any other reason is not permitted without prior approval. Violation of house rules could result in you being required to leave prematurely and any additional nights’ accommodation would be forfeit without refund. Other Guests We appreciate you’re on holiday and here to have a good time, but we do ask that you are mindful of guests in the other five cottages and keep noise to a minimum between 22:00 and 08:00. Please also be respectful of others privacy and space – and do please let us know if you have any issues. Dogs We’re really happy to welcome well-behaved dogs. However there are a few things to bear in mind, please. Pets are not permitted in the bedrooms. Please don’t bend the rules or we’ll need to retain some of your deposit for additional laundry fees and carpet cleaning. Throws should be used if inviting them onto furniture. Dogs shouldn’t be left alone at any time. They can become distressed and cause considerable damage to the property. In all areas of the farm, except for the paddock next to the play area, dogs need to be kept under control and on leads at all times. The play area paddock is completely fenced in so it’s OK to let your dog off lead in there but do still be careful of livestock grazing in the adjoining fields. Remember to scoop their poop and dispose of the bag in the dedicated dog waste bin in the main courtyard next to the garage door. Please do not put dog waste in your cottage bin, as the bags go to a trade waste facility where it’s sorted by hand. You should pick up after your dog even when exercising them in the fields as children also play in these areas. Please be mindful of other guests and their children; not everyone is comfortable around dogs. Most of the beaches on the North Coast allow dogs year round. Some on the South Coast are a little more strict during Summer months. No Access/Private Areas The outside areas next to the Games Room and Dog Paddock and beyond towards The Piggery are for all guests to access and use communally. Other areas are private and for the specific use of each cottage. Please do not venture beyond any ‘Private’ signs. The Farmhouse is also a holiday cottage so please do not walk up that driveway or enter the side gate in the front garden. Hot Tub Hot tubs are fun and enjoyable for the whole family however infants and toddlers should not be put in the hot tub due to not being able to control their bodily functions and easily getting overheated. Most public pools only allow children over the age of twelve to use the hot tub so safety needs to be uppermost in your mind when you decide what age is appropriate for your kids to use a private hot tub. It’s recommended that no children under 5 should go in a hot tub and then only if their feet can reach the bottom of the tub. Small children have smaller bodies than adults and will overheat much more quickly. Children should not spend more than about 10 minutes at a time in the hot tub. Watch for flushed skin and sluggish or sleepy behaviour after they have been in the hot tub for a while. If they show these signs, get them out and cool them down. Please be mindful of using the hot tub if you are pregnant or suffer from any health conditions or take medication – medical advice should be sought first. People with infectious diseases or skin conditions should not use the hot tub. To make sure the hot tub stays clean and functioning for the duration of your stay, please shower before using the hot tub because oils on your skin from body products and moisturisers are stripped from your skin by the pool chemicals – including tanning products. The hot tub lid is heavy and requires two people to lift it and off. If you need assistance, please ask - we are happy to help you. To maintain the temperature replace the cover after use. Take care when getting in and out of the hot tub and it’s recommended adults do not to stay in the hot tub for longer than 30 minutes at a time. Please do not alter the temperature setting or attempt to remove any of the suction fitting covers. For safety please do not take glassware into the hot tub and please do not use foaming bath products in the hot tub. Barbecues If you have a barbecue, either using the barbeque provided or a disposable type, please ensure that the coals are completely cold before disposing of them in the bins. This usually means that they have to be left overnight to cool down. Do not use a disposable BBQ on top of the wooden table. Beds All beds have mattress protectors but for comfort they are not waterproof. If you think that your child might have an accident, or if they are unwell please do not hesitate to ask for a waterproof sheet. If your child does have an accident in the night, don't worry, we have an extra-large washing machine that can cope with single bedding and we always have spare bedding if required. Please do not wash bed linen or bedding yourself. Just let us know what you need. Electrical Equipment Under no circumstances may you use your own electrical appliances here other than laptops, phone chargers and hair stylers without explicit written permission. This includes air conditioning units and/or heaters. Hair styling equipment must not be left unattended when plugged in, and please do not place hair styling equipment on the carpet. Guest appliances have not been PAT tested and could invalidate our insurance. Breakages From time to time breakages are bound to happen. Please let us know about any mishaps at your earliest opportunity, so that we can make repairs or arrange a replacement as soon as possible. Rubbish & Recycling You are able to put all forms of mixed waste into your black bags, there is no need to separate out the recycling. Our waste collection company sorts everything at their waste recycling facility. All you need to do is make sure that everything is bagged and that the bags are tied before placing into the wheelie bin outside your cottage. No dog waste to be put into this main household bin, please. There is a designated dog waste bin in the main courtyard area, next to the garage door. There are extra refuse sacks in your cottage under the kitchen sink - if you require more please let us know. Please do not use confetti, glitter, metallic throwing foil or any similar decorations anywhere on the premises. An extra cleaning charge of £100 will be payable if any are found. Departure Day Please ensure that you vacate your cottage by 10am at the latest. To help us safeguard the housekeeping team, it would really be appreciated if you would take care of a few things before you depart: Open all windows to ventilate the cottage (weather permitting). Strip beds and put the linen, towels, tea towels and oven gloves into the green laundry bags. Remove all food from cupboards, fridge and freezer. Put everything you’re not taking home into rubbish bags. Empty bathroom bins into the rubbish bags and then place all the bagged rubbish into the external dustbin. Please make sure everything is washed up and put away. Don’t worry if the dishwasher hasn’t finished when you leave – the housekeepers can take care of it. When you’ve locked up, please replace the keys in the key box, scroll the dials to hide the code and replace the cover.
