A lovely place to stay felt right at home and had everything we needed

beware this property is not brand new and is not looked after. various issues around the property ranging from a musky smell and stained furniture to damaged doors and waste pipes. toast letting customer service is rude and unprofessional.

I have family in this area and often stay in Airbnb properties costing around £130 per night, which is what this house cost me. This property is poor value I comparison. Rather than being 'brand new' as stated in the listing, it is a few years old, feels unloved and is in need of some attention to bring it back up to standard. Overall I was very disappointed, feeling that I had paid full price for a house that only delivered 70% of what I expected, and failed to deliver on several listed amenities. I contacted the host about my concerns and they didn't respond. The good points are; - Slept well the 1st night when I was on my own - modern house (but see bad points below) - comfortable beds, good black out curtains - heating worked well - Nice, quiet area - close to local shops, pub, cafe & large supermarket with petrol station - good road links for visiting and exploring the North East. The bad points; - doesn't feel like home from home, just a rental home to make money with minimal effort, with nobody ever having lived in the house - whilst reasonably new, the house feels tired and unloved - there is no 'dedicated workspace' as claimed on the listing, also missing claimed hairdryer and shampoo - the garden needed attention, the grass needed cutting and there were many well-established weeds - there is no outside furniture - the floors are noisy and there is poor internal sound insulation so when my friend joined me (who doesn't sleep well), I was woken by them moving around the house - the sofas in the living room are too narrow, and uncomfortable - there are too few occasional tables to put drinks on - the lamp in the living room isn't bright enough and the main light is far too bright - no plug for the ensuite sink - no dish cloth, antiseptic wipes, or paper towels for wiping kitchen surfaces - on arrival all the electric sockets were switched off including WiFi, fridge, extractor fans - overall felt like the house had not been fully prepared for my arrival - poor customer service as the host failed to respond when I sent them a message about my concerns
