Booked as a family break. On arrival, the kitchen wasn’t clean. Plates, cutlery, drawers and the oven all had visible food residue. A follow-up clean was arranged, but didn’t fully resolve it, with items still not to the expected standard. The main issue was the oven, which wasn’t usable during the stay. The kitchen worked for basics (tea, cereal), but cooking meals wasn’t possible, leading to extra cost eating out and limiting how we could use the space. Heating is controlled externally, so you can’t adjust it yourself without messaging. The garden also isn’t private as suggested, with shared rear access. We stayed 3rd–8th April, and a noticeable part of that time was spent reporting issues, coordinating access and following things up, rather than relaxing and using the property as intended. Responsive host, but overall it didn’t meet expectations. Felt less like a break and more like managing someone else’s property.
