Stayed here for two nights as a group of 6 (including 2 kids). Very well located for exploring Barnard Castle and its right on the high street which makes it great for parking outside for free at weekends. The flat itself has a great amount of space, great sized rooms and the beds are very comfy. Ive rated it 3 stars however as it is in need of a spruce up. Some cupboard doors are not attached, the door handle on the wardrobe falls off and the kitchen is just a little mis matched. The TV also wouldn't work to tune into Freeview which was a mild inconvenience. Plenty of pigeons around outside who seem to have nested in the roof which also leads to a fair bit of noise particularly at night above the front bedroom. Overall the place suited for 2 nights but its in need of a bit of TLC. Helen was great though, very attentive and instructions were clear, even helped us quickly in working the oven which was hard to know how to work as the icons had rubbed off so we could eat Friday night!

We stayed at Helen’s place over Easter I am from Barnard Castle so was lovely to stay in the centre of the town. Helen’s communication leading up to the holiday was very slow and we only got entrance instructions after I contacted Helen early afternoon on our day of arrival. We stay in Airbnb’s regularly and usually the correspondence is very prompt so was disappointed it was not this time. We were also disappointed with the kitchen equipment provided for a listing that sleeps 6 we found only 4 forks 3 mugs no appropriately sized cooking equipment, one bin bag, no corkscrew, no dish cloth, only found empty salt and pepper mills. The kitchen all felt a bit grubby and in need of repair and attention. The TV in the lounge doesn’t work. A handle on the front bedroom wardrobe fell off when I first touched it. We all felt it sad as the flat itself is so spacious and in a great location and with some time and little money spent on it it could be much improved for any future guests.

Perfect location. Parking was in a public car park but it was close and cheap. Spacious and comfy.

This is great apartment, so good it’s our second stay here. Loads of space and comfortable furnishings, it’s a second floor place but the stairs are gentle. Very central for Barnard Castle. Thank you
